This is the first project I have by myself in a very long time (possibly ever) and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The opportunity to choose a music video was so exciting for me because of how much I enjoy creating them. Last year we were given a project similar to this where we have to work in a group. This year I was able to work by myself and at first making all those choices by myself was difficult, but as time went on, I was able to get the hang of it and learn to trust my instincts. Being able to work at my own pace without having to rely on others, was refreshing and being able to prove to myself that I can create something amazing by myself was extremely fulfilling. Being able to challenge myself to edit, even though I hadn’t in a while, rekindled the passion I have for creating and telling stories through digital media.
As for the actors, and my friend who helped me on set Maria, I couldn’t be more grateful for. Planning out filming days was extremely easy and all of them were so cooperative, kind and patient with me. Jack, despite not knowing me well, placed a lot of trust in me and was encouraging, kind and welcoming in every discussion we had. He was a fabulous sport and an even better actor, singer, producer, and artist. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. Sol and Jack were both cooperative and always delivered the exact emotion I was looking for. Maria was so kind to help me record a few things which made the process of making this music video feel fast because of the amount of fun I’ve have with it.
This may be my favorite project I’ve ever created in AICE Media Studies because accomplishing my vision, not only was easy, but it was thought-provoking to others and also free promotion for Jack for his new song so everyone got a win!
