Since part of this project is also to market and brand I will be researching the band “Foo Fighters” and how they marketed their brand as an Alternative Rock band. After watching multiple music videos of the Foo Fighters I realized that there are some aspects of their brand that I liked and works for there type of music and brand but Jack’s music is much less intense so I know that I’m going to have to choose something other than super punk rock star. More 🎧🌧️🎸😢💦🎹 than 🎸😡⛓️🧨🔥👹 in other words more sad chill boy rock guy next door than angry punk rockstar. An artist that comes to mind is Conan Grey even though he is pop his brand type (sad boy rocker) could work for Jack Kimmel. Something important that comes to mind is how he is shown up on apps like Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube music etc. As of right now this is how he appears on Spotify:
For the two songs he has released there’s no specific brand dedicated to how his music sounds (which is why I’m here). My goal is to transform the covers, the social media, the profile photo into one cohesive looking brand instead of just random singles that don’t correlate.
Another marketing idea that comes to mind is having a photoshoot on the music video set and releasing those photos on the social media before releasing the music video. I definitely would like to scheduled multiple photoshoots in different areas such as the beach, a studio and another location as well.
I also was thinking about his name “Jack Kimmel” seems too ordinary and not specific to a brand at all so if I was going for punk rockstar I’d change his name to JACK KIMMEL or J KIMMEL but since I’ve decided to lean more into the sad chill boy marketing idea maybe jack kimmel or jack k would work better or maybe even Jackk.
