Sooooo this week we had group meetings!! I throughly enjoy these meetings because they give all of us students a chance to give feedback on our projects and also provides a chance to ask for help if needed. My group consisted of Nadia, Juan, Corina and Nathaniel who each are making their own short film. In the group meetings we each offered recommendations and I found a lot of the details and recommendations given to me to be useful.
Inspiration for branding
Corina recommended leaning more into the indie sleaze effortlessly cool chill but grungy and cool guy persona for Jack. She also says she sees Inhaler as a big inspiration which is good because I have already researched and been inspired by them in some of the ways they market. Another recommendation given was the strokes which I haven’t really researched but more than the music the branding technique was what the group recommended I look into.
Another thing Corina recommended is giving him a signature or staple such as:
The dare- Suit
A color like Olivia Rodrigo-Purple
A logo refrain that repeats such as Billy Idol
For this idea I chose for Jack to always wear some sort of sunglasses which would make sense for the retro beach photoshoot and give off more of that edgy cool sleaze boy look.
More Ideas
Juan recommended researching Brat and lil uzi vert for changing album covers as a marketing campaign for a re-brand since Jack’s covers currently don’t coordinate visually with the brand. In order for me to rebrand however I have to make sure the brand is solid. Some more artists to research are these: Bruce Springsteen, Greta van fleet, and Starbenders.
